Message of condolence from HSS (UK) President.
I was very sad to hear of the demise of Rabbi Lord Sacks and on behalf of the Hindu community, I would like to convey our deepest condolences to his family and to the Jewish community.
As the ex-Chief Rabbi, he was not only a leader for the Jewish community but for wider society on faith and secular issues. During his time there were a series of defining moments which inspired Hindu and Jewish community dialogue on the basis that our theological and cultural differences must be shown as a virtue rather than allowing others to use it to divide us. This is a message and legacy which must remain with us even though Rabbi Lord Sacks is no longer with us.
