On Sunday 23rd of November 25 members of the Hindu Community group came to Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trusts flagship site – Attenborough Nature Reserve. The group split into 3 subgroups which consisted of a group that did a guided walk around the site, a group that did some practical conservation work, habitat and scrub control, the final group did an education session, were they learnt to use tools, map and compass and a spot of bird watching. We had 8 Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust volunteers that worked alongside the group and everyone said how fantastic it was to have such an enthusiastic group come to help out. The Wildlife trust have been trying to work with different groups for a long time now and are really excited by the chance to form a long lasting partnership with the Hindu Group.
The day was an amazing experience for both staff and volunteers and we can’t wait to link with you to help our local environment in the future – “Many hands make light work of protecting the planet for the next generation” lets join together to make this happen.
