Shubh Deepavali and Nutan Varsh Abhinandan
24th October, 2022
Today, Hindu’s around the world are celebrating the festival of Deepavali.
Deepavali marks the return of Shri Ram to Ayodhya with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana after defeating Ravana in Lanka.
The story of Shri Ram’s victory and his return to his kingdom of Ayodhya reminds us of the message that Dharma overcomes Adharama and that light dispels darkness.
Deepavali is a time in which we reflect on three key values:
Sanskaar – Virtuous Character; honesty, integrity and the courage to face challenges
Sewa – Selfless service; serving others and our local communities
Sangathan – Universal togetherness; we are all connected irrespective of our differences and have a shared stake in our mutual well being
As we continue to navigate through challenging times, let us all take inspiration from Shri Ram’s life and resolve to uphold the same principles to protect and promote the welfare of all and to dispel any forces that choose to divide.
On behalf of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (UK), we wish you a Shubh Deepavali and Nutan Varsh Abhinandan.
