Who needs to complete a DBS application?
This application form is for all HSS (UK) karyakartas requiring a DBS check.
Please note as per the HSS (UK) Safe to Trust Policy and Guidelines, karyakarta should be appointed subject to satisfactory disclosure from a DBS check.
The following karyakarta must complete a DBS check:
- Shakha: Karyawaha, Saha-Karyawaha, Mukhya Shikshak, Bauddhik Pramukh, Shareerik Pramukh (aged 16 or above).
- Karyakarta with a responsibility listed in the HSS (UK) Directory (e.g. KKM, Vibhag Mandal)
- Karyakarta at an HSS (UK) event (aged 16 and above)
Additional karyakartas may also need to complete a DBS check – please email dbs@hssuk.org if you have any specific queries regarding who needs to complete a DBS application.
Please note, at any weekly shakha there must be at least two adults present (18 years of age or over), one of whom should be DBS checked. In addition, if both swayamsevaks and sevikas (male and female members) are present, there must be at least one male and female adult present.
How long is the DBS valid for?
HSS (UK) has decided that every DBS completed will be valid for 3 years.
What if I already have a DBS certificate from my employer?
If you have had a DBS check completed as part of your occupation (teacher, social worker, doctor, dentist etc) this will also be valid as long as it has been completed within 3 years and is an Enhanced DBS.
If this is the case, please send a copy of your certificate to dbs@hssuk.org stating your shakha, nagar, vibhag and responsibility.
